You may have explained why today. No, your mother and grandmother would not likely have said those words. First because it is a transliteration of english, and secondly, because I am sure they were far too refined to say the actual expression we use. I live in southern Alberta, kind of in Montana's neck of the woods. My husband and I do the crossword and read the blog every day. He suffers from memory loss and it is a kind of brain calisthenics for him. I am always amazed at what he does remember though!
