It makes less difference than you'd think. When you hear his recordings, it sounds like most artist's recorded music: He plays well and the sound is full and rich. Much like if he has a lot of help in the studio, as anyone else typically would. <br /><br />It's not until you see him live and solo that you realize that there's no accompaniment....and the sound is the same!
