    I didn't get a chance to cast my pick on this one, but after watching Tyler Hinman use a pencil(and the eraser several times) at the crossword tournament in Brooklyn, I figure if it's good enough for the 3 time champ, then it's ok for me.

    Combined. You use pencil for things you are not sure, you use pen for gimmes.
