Found this site by accident while trying to google some answers. Boy, did you make me feel old (41) when you didn't know what microfiche was. Didn't you ever have to look something up on micorfilm or microfiche at the library when doing a research project - you know those old machines where you have to turn the wheel to scroll across the pages? Thanks for helping with the answers! M.S. in Pennsylvania
ReplyDeleteInteresting that Mr Williams has two nom de plumes. Stanley Newman, editor of Newsday crossword puzzle also has 2. Makes one wonder if Mr Shortz may follow suit.

Here is a tongue in cheek expose of Will Shortz.

ReplyDeleteLoreen,
ReplyDeleteThank you for nice words. Hope to see you often.
I suppose this has been addressed earlier, but I don't know blogs. Found this site by googling.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Tribune replace Wayne Robert Williams? Did he retire, or what? I was comfy with his puzzles & am pulling hair out with some of the LA Times clues.
BTW, how do I find your answer to this question?
Thanks.
OutAtheLoop in IL,
ReplyDeleteYes, Wayne R. Williams has retired. TMS started to replace his TMS Daily with Rich Norris LA Times Daily on March 23, 2009. Be patient. It takes time to adjust to a new editor and his cluing style.
