(Updated on Jan 2, 2012)
Below is the most update information on all the newspapers that carry LAT Daily (distributed by Tribune Media Service) crossword puzzle.
I still need paper names from AK, ID, MO, MS, TN. Please send me an email or just write a comment here so that I can add your paper to the list.
You can always go to Chicago Tribune and print out the puzzle in old format. They have a 30-day archive. Or you can get the puzzle from Cruciverb. You need to download Across Lite first. It's free.
Thank you.

There are two changes here. First Beaver Valley Times now carries the LAT Mon thru Fri. and Sunday. Secondly the Pittsburgh Post Gazette is experimenting with other puzzles and may not return to the LAT. I will confirm this when they are done with the experiment.

In Rapid City SD, the LAT is printed 7 days a week by the Rapid City Journal.

ReplyDeleteIn VA, the Daily Press no longer has the LAT puzzle, & hasn't for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteThe Green Bay Press Gazette (WI) now carries the re-animated Wayne Williams puzzles.
ReplyDeleteThis puzzle is carried in the Hartford Courant in Connecticut. Thanks for doing your blog.
ReplyDeleteGood morning CC,

The Corpus Christi Caller Times dropped a second puzzle when the old Star Tribune version was discontinued, and now carries only the NY Times. I wrote the editor requesting they carry the LA Times version, but they are having so many problems staying afloat, they opted out.
ReplyDeleteThe Modesto Bee (Modesto, California) carries the LAT (TMS) puzzles Monday through Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThe Modbee is owned by The McClatchy Company, which also publishes the Sacramento Bee and the Fresno Bee. I'm not sure if those newspapers publish the LAT puzzles. Maybe someone in Sacramento or Fresno will check in and let you know.
The Wisconsin State Journal only carries LAT Monday through Saturday. Sunday we get the NYT so I always do LAT online that day.
ReplyDeleteC.C.-The Orange County Register does not carry the LATimes crossword. They publish the current Universal puzzle as well as a NYTimes puzzle, which may or may not be current. Neither puzzle gives credit to the constructor or editor. (I bought today's edition to check it out and make sure nothing had changed since I last saw a copy of the Register.)
ReplyDeleteIn California, the "Press Enterprise" no longer used the L.A. Times puzzle.
ReplyDeleteThe Sacramento (CA) Bee publishes the NYT puzzle daily and also a daily CW puzzle with no name -- footnote says copyright 2009 by NEA, Inc. On Sunday the no name puzzle is replaced by the Sunday Puzzler. I get the LAT puzzle on line.
ReplyDeletethe student newspaper at university of florida, the alligator, which is the most widely distributed college newspaper!
ReplyDeleteThe Daily Collegian, the daily student run newspaper at Penn State University has it everyday :) Keeps me entertained in class.

ReplyDeleteThe Lincoln Journal Star of Nebraska also carries the LA Times puzzle. I can't confirm if the Omaha World Herald still does, because I don't often pick up that paper (even though it is free at the University of Nebraska).
ReplyDeleteIn Bend, Oregon the "Bend Bulletin" newspaper carries the LA Times Crossword.
ReplyDeleteCC. Don't know about the print edition but the SF Chronicle.com edition has the Universal C/W.

ReplyDeleteIn Springfield, MO the News-Leader runs the LAT crossword in print Monday thru Saturday. (The online uclick puzzle of the day is not the same.) I don't know which one they run on Sunday, but it's not the NYT.
