Theme: Something fishy, right up front. Each theme answer starts with the name of well known fish.
Let us start with the unifier, to make everything clear.

ReplyDeleteThanks C. C. and Jazz!
Nice puzzle!
ARI was perped. No problems.
Spent a few hours tonight fixing Harv's MacBook Pro. (Now if he would just get rid of those 5K unread emails.)
Still have cough, but not so bad.
Have a great day!
{A-, B, C+, B.}
ReplyDeleteOur friend, the APE from San Simeon
Swears a SOLEMN OATH that he's SIMIAN.
To be AS SUCH, he'd wish.
But SOME think he's IRISH,
The RUB is, his name's PETER Finnegan!
Dry surface and sunburn are what makes MARS RED.
It's a place from which wet water has fled.
But the dolphin's space SHOOT
May soon make that all MOOT.
They're aquaforming, so that's where FISH HEAD!
There was a man who drove a SEDAN just for sport.
Exit his CONDO in only his SPEEDO, he's that sort!
His car raced a RHEA!
It was RACY, but NO KIA.
To charge, it plugged in to his cell phone's CAR PORT!
There was a SASSY gourmet from SYRIA,
Proclaimed that U.S.A. SLOP was inferia'.
But he likes a BISCOTTI
And a MEH CUP of coffee
That he LAPS UP at a bus DEPOT cafeteria!
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteBISCOTTI and SKATER DRESS were new to me (but I did like the dress!); perps to the rescue. I thought the planetary color would be MARTIAN; Wite-Out, please. Otherwise, this was a smooth solve. Thanks, C.C. and JzB.
There's a movement in Texas to build a high-speed rail line for the 239 mile trip from Houston to Dallas. The movement isn't moving very fast, though. Lots of farm land that would be split by the proposed route.
"Puzzling Thoughts":
ReplyDeleteJust a brief stop by this am to say "hello"!
Great puzzle / theme CC as well the recap from JzB ( with whom I agree; where's the baseball reference Ms Burnikel??! )
My only ink blot was in 21a (had I AM NOT). When I started checking the "downs" I noticed NOW that it was incorrect. THE THO is not a band, TTBOMK
A quick 'lick:
Have you heard of the go-getter fella
Who invented the food spread Nutella?
He stays on the down low;
Doesn't want folks to know
That is name really is Sal Monella
Morning,
ReplyDeleteThis was a good work out for the eraser today, but I did nail it. Most of my issues were in the NE & South. So, I AM NOW satisfied and at EASE.
Kept thinking Aline DRESS for 61 A, but it wouldn't fit. Never heard of a SKATER DRESS.
Wilbur, about 3:00 AM I realized my reply to your quest5ion yesterday was totally screwed up. I f you did not take me to task, I'll Email you what I believe is the correct response.
Hondo, go ahead. Love to get some mail from another early baseball aficionado
DeleteBtw. I posted answers to #1,#2 late yesterday
Btw2. The HoFer was an ex-Tiger thus the hint
WC
Congratulations C.C. and thanks JzB. After HOUND and CAT I was thinking of pets but the fish didn't register until I worked most of FISH HEAD through the crosses.
ReplyDeleteARI was unknown and ENYA was filled by crosses but ' Only Time' could have been written by the other four letter composer X-word staple- ANKA- for all I know.
I didn't know that BISCOTTI were twice-baked and since the clue was plural, I filled BISCUITS before SLOP and PETER corrected it.
Paula DEEN- another example of character assassination by the press. She got the last laugh with a $75 million deal.
EDDIE Vedder- just another example that you don't need a good voice or talent to make it as a rock celebrity. Refer to my comment yesterday about Rap singers. or Britney Spears. or ... etc. The list is endless.
Golf- our tournament is next week. Coming are DAY, SPIETH, STENSON, ROSE, FOWLET, SCOTT, Justin THOMAS, all top 10 in world points. The best field we've had in years since Nicklaus, Watson, Player, & Trevino used to come every year.
Where's the "for short" in the 69A clue "Officejet printers"?
ReplyDeleteBecause Hewlett-Packard Co. is commonly referred to as HP, it doesn't need "for short". But that is just my opinion; editors can do whatever they want is the ultimate answer.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning.
ReplyDeleteThis was fun C.C., but I did expect some baseball also. I found the fish after a quick look back after I solved FISH HEAD. Hooray for me. I seldom do that. Fun clues and a fine start to my day. Thank you.
Thanks, JazzB for the informative tour--as always. Texas needs a high speed rail?! I thought they already had them--called highways. I'm pretty sure all standard vehicles in TX are outfitted with heat shields!! I have a pretty serious lead foot by Illinois standards, but I can't even begin to compete with Texans. When I took my grandson to his debate tournament last month, I wasn't sure exactly where I was headed so I stayed off the highway. He was dumbfounded by that decision. I simply explained I was not a licensed Indy driver! ;-)
Have a sunny day.
Good morning all!
ReplyDeleteI always play the guessing game with who the constructor might be since my paper doesn't list him/her. I'm getting better and today was correct that it was a C.C. offering :) Nice work with the fishy theme which I didn't see until the FISHHEAD reveal.
IrishMiss- you got your wish for a M-T-W Bruce, Jeffrey and C.C. trifecta! And a CSO with IRISH Setter :)
Thanks for a wonderful write up, JzB- great job despite ailing. Feel better soon!
No issues and breezed through nicely for a Wednesday. Only hiccups were filling Fat>CUD and ORU was gotten via perps. I'm feeling proud of myself for three good puzzle days in a row, especially considering the constructors.
Favorite clever clues/fills were PETER, ALPO, OTIS and DEC ( it really is a "present month" for me with Christmas and my birthday)
We had Sass yesterday and SASSY today which reminds me of my Mom saying "Don't be sassy with me, Sissy!" ( Sissy is yet another nickname I have, given to me by brother when I was a baby. Most of my Mom's family calls me that) when I was Impudent ( a rare occurrence, of course ;) )
Big Easy- hope you're feeling better and glad you got that taken care of.
Misty- Did your Dad get a phone in his room? Agree that keeping in contact will be beneficial to both of you :)
Husker Gary- lol You ARE one of the great minds I was referring to! ;)
I took a CATNAP yesterday evening while trying to watch "Better Call Saul" ( on the DVR from Tues) It's a favorite, so the fact that I slept through most of shows how exhausted I was. I spent the day at my Aunt's with most of our family. The nurse told us a couple of times "This might be it". The poor dear is still fighting and the nurse said many times patients are "waiting" on either someone to come visit or someone who has passed to come get them. I do believe this as we saw it with my Grandpa. He'd been in a coma for a week then woke up with a smile on his face, reached out and said "Mom" just before passing. It was both a heartbreaking and beautiful moment.
I'm able to sit outside this morning to have coffee and crossword time but the sky looks ominous- I believe the rain is coming soon ( both my arthritis and the scared dog are tell tale signs even without seeing the clouds) Hope it's sunny where you are.
Have a great day everyone!
Good Morning:
ReplyDeleteAre we on a roll, or what? Monday, Bruce; Tuesday, Jeffrey; Wednesday, CC! What a triple crown! Another CC gem with her trademark expertise of keeping us in the dark until that "Aha" moment with the reveal. No nits, no problems, no complaints. I'll take that Irish as a CSO, even though I'm not a setter! 🤗
Thanks, CC, for a mid-week treat and thanks, JazB, for your very informative expo.
It's chilly and cloudy right now but the budding trees offer some promise that Spring is going to arrive, sooner or later.
Ferm, glad you're feeling a little better.
Have a great day.
Good morning everyone.
ReplyDeleteA bouillabaisse of a puzzle today. Well done! Nice SO to IM. After parsing the NW correctly and settling on BISCOTTI, the rest of the solve went well. Favorite clue was for DEC. Several sports related entries.
DEEN - We've eaten at her restaurant in Savannah.
PLIERS - One of my favorite words to pronounce in Low German: Knieptang. The K is pronounced. (pincer tongs)
Welcome aboard, Wade.
Good day to all!
ReplyDeleteI found this to be an enjoyable solve with much clever cluing, yet I needed the reveal to suss the theme. Thanks, C.C.. Favorite clue/answer was "Handle on many elevators" for OTIS. The term SKATER DRESS is new to me and arrived via perps. Thanks for the thorough expo, Jazzbumpa. I hope you feel better soon. You too, Fermatprime.
Enjoy the day!
Reminded of an episode of Barney Miller when Nick is supposedly making shabu-shabu. Somebody says it smells like garbage, Yemana indignantly lists the ingredients—FISH HEADS, cabbage leaves, cucumber rinds— then says "Come to think of it, that is garbage!" At the end, Barney tastes the shabu shabu and likes it.
ReplyDeleteWiki however doesn't mention fish heads in its article on Shabu-shabu.
This episode was about the time I noticed restaurants serving other things that they used to throw out - chicken wings, potato skins
Jazz: Good job on the write-up.
ReplyDeleteC.C. Thank you for a FUN Wednesday puzzle. My "NEW favorite puzzle of 2017."
AS SUCH, I-AM-NOW refreshed from my 55th trip to Hedonism II, Negril, Jamaica.
One thing that wasn't worn on the beach was a SPEEDO ... we actually don't wear anything.
The "all-over" tan looks good and healthy.
A "Toast-to-ALL" at Sunset ... probably with Appleton Rum
Cheers!
Musings
ReplyDelete-A ray of C.C. sunshine on a rainy humpday. It took just a little longer to see the theme as the name of the fish were cleverly not standing alone.
-Even “playing hurt”, Jazz does a nice job
-He swears them in but knows when they are violating the SOLMEN OATH
-Maturity has slightly lessened my RABIDNESS (RABIDITY?) for Husker FB
-UNITE : Congress :: Lottery : Wealth (possible but not likely)
-SOME news LEAKS are used to “test the waters”
-MT. HOOD from Portland’s wonderful International Rose Garden
-LES PAUL’S musical ability – Incomparable. Acting ability – MEH
-Add my friend U.S. Senator Ben Sasse to variations on SASS
-Bunny, you’ve got to raise your “great minds” standards! :-)
-For a baseball reference, C.C. could have used EDDIE Gadel that owner/showman Bill Veeck sent to bat in 1951. Uh, EDDIE drew a walk. Friday cluing?
-Do you know the name of the EDDIE character that was a pool hustler?
Good morning, folks. Thank you, C.C., for a fine puzzle. Thank you, Jazzbumpa, for a fine review.
ReplyDeleteGot through this pretty quickly, for a Wednesday. Not complaining, though.
Liked the theme. Not big into FISH HEAD anything.
Only two inkblots were 30A, where the clue was present mo. I wrote in APR. Later on it hit me DEC.
Second inkblot was 36D, handle on many elevators. Of course I wrote in OPEN. After a bit and some perps OTIS won that battle.
I used to get BISCOTTI a lot in Pennsylvania. My sister's father-in-law, Bufalino, made it himself. Since he died I have not had any.
Perps helped me with THE WHO. I am not real big into modern music, just John Philip Sousa and old C&W.
We seem to get ENYA a lot.
Now I am going to check in to yesterday's blog and report my puzzle. I just finished it this morning.
See you tomorrow.
Abejo

What a lovely sashay from C.C. and a good memory since it might be a long while before I puzzle again unless I can manage doing it on line. I'm not hopeful.
ReplyDeleteCONDO was fun since I live in one though technically and by definition a CONDO is stacked units. Common usage prevails, though. Many of my neighbors have ADT security but mine is a different one, Monotronics, now MONI. As I'm drinking my CUP of coffee I'll bid adieu for now and I'll be in my SEDAN for many hours.
DEC and PETER were cleverly clued.
Thank you, C.C. and Jazzbumpa. You give us wonderful details.
Have a terrific day, everyone, and please stay well!
Lucina, most of the online sites have a "print" option for the daily cw. If you've got a printer, you can print it out and solve it in the grand old-fashioned way: pen and ink.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable Wednesday CW that filled in fairly quickly. Thanks C.C. and JazzB (feel better soon!).
ReplyDeleteLike Bunny M., I smiled when I saw the byline and thought of Irish Miss' musing from yesterday.
C.C. was into golf today not baseball. I had Eagle at 15A for the golfer's birdie until perps showed THREE.
I was trying to fit Daschhound (wrong spelling) for the "droopy-eared dog". I waited for the correct HOUND to appear.
I smiled at clever cluing for "present month"=DEC. APR would have limited the CW publication date.
Different clue for LEAR today, jets not Shakespeare.
My first thought for the Shepherd's dinner was Pie and then smiled at ALPO.
SALMONELLA went in because E Coli was not long enough.
I filled in Martian and wondered if it was a new Crayola colour. Eventually MARS RED appeared. I was not familiar with that name either. Apparently there was a Martian green and a Mercury red colour in the 1997 Crayola Spacewalk box.
I knew bento box from a recent CW.
I love BISCOTTI and usually dip them in coffee. I'll have to try that dessert wine!
Is AnonT happy with THE WHO and Pearl Jam EDDIE today?? Where's tawnya?
Canada won 22 medals at Rio (we do better at the Winter Olympics). 4 of them were won by 16 year old swimmer Penny Oleksiak.
PennyOleksiak
Enjoy the day.
Have a good trip, Lucina.
Wishes for good healing to Big Easy.
Bunny M, continued thoughts and prayers for release for your aunt and family. The vigil is so emotionally tiring.
try this link update
ReplyDeletePennyOleksiak
Liked the musical mini-theme with THE WHO, ENYA, LES PAUL AND EDDIE Vedder.
ReplyDeleteGary, You missed another pesky diphthong(Eddie Gaedel). Do you remember the pitcher? Hint, the name showed up on a Bible clue. Hondo knows it.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of Fast Eddie's last name. Played by Newman methinks.
Lots to say but it all got said except I misspelled BISCOTTE
WC. Gotta run
Les Paul was a musical innovator. He discovered that playing back a track at twice normal speed raised the pitch by exactly one octave. And with multi-track recording, Mary Ford could sing with herself while Les was playing with himself.
ReplyDeleteThere really was something fishy here! This fine puzzle seemed to be CC's style, but my paper attributed it to Jeffrey Wechsler. Thanks for clearing that up. JzB, thanks for your always informative review.
ReplyDeleteMy DIL makes shabu shabu. We each use chop sticks to dip pieces of very tender paper thin beef slices in broth to cook for a few seconds. We also dip in mushrooms and veggies. I have had similar shabu shabu in Japan in authentic restaurants. Shabu shabu means swish-swish or wash-wash, onomatopoeic for the sound of swishing the beef during cooking. Some cuisines might include fish heads, but I believe most shabu shabu dishes are are more like ours.
According to the Free Dictionary, condo, short for condominium, is
ReplyDelete"1. an apartment house, office building, or other multiple-unit complex, the units of which are individually owned, with each owner receiving a deed to the unit purchased, including the right to sell or mortgage that unit, and sharing in joint ownership of any common grounds, passageways, etc.
2. a unit in such a building."
My condo is in a five unit building. We each have side-by-side units with an upstairs and downstairs and patio. We own our park-like setting in common. My son's condo was in a converted brownstone with a restaurant on the ground floor and two units each on the top two floors. Some condos are garden apartment style, some are huge multi-floor apartment style buildings. Many medical offices here are condos. The motel down the shore at which we have stayed for many years recently converted to condo ownership, run by a management company. There was virtually no change in our experience there.
Condo or condominium is the style of ownership, rather than the style of the building.
Fast Eddie FELSEN. Great film, as was the sequel, the Color of Money.
ReplyDeleteA really nice Wednesday puzzle with just the right amount of crunch.
And it's my Birthday, think of the Beatles song. Not a big fan of this aging process until the alternative is considered.
PVX, Welcome to 64! I had mine 2 months ago. Just think, next year Medicare!! 😀
DeleteHi Y'all! C.C. probably wasn't FISHing for compliments, but she'll sure get them on this great puzzle. JzB, your flu didn't diminish the quality of the expo at all. Wish you a SPEEDO recovery.
ReplyDeleteOnly time I've had BISCOTTI was when I lived in Massachusetts a few months of 1961. I worked in an office surrounded by Italian girls. One of them brought me some BISCOTTI when I said I'd never eaten them. Since then I saw them once somewhere but they didn't have the good anise flavoring of my Mass. friend's cookie.
Bonnie, I agree with the nurse. My father-in-law hung on for days until his oldest daughter arrived to say goodbye. She and her mother went to lunch and he was gone before they got back.
My daughter was tending her friend's BASSET this weekend, so the word came quickly for me. The friend had an earlier BASSET that "ate" my couch after I donated it via my daughter for the friend's husband's man cave. Don't know why he found a 20-yr-old SiTTER so tasty.
Lucina, we'll miss you. Have fun.
Tinbeni, the thought of you rum-soaked and cavorting on a nude beach is more than I can bare. Whee!
AnonPVX: Happy birthday and many more!
ReplyDeleteMusings 2
ReplyDelete-Thanks for the gentle correction W.C,
-Yup, it was Fast Eddie Felsen from Oakland, CA that finally beat Minnesota Fats
-I was glad I was ABEL to look up that pitcher’s name and reread the account of that day
-CONDOS and Apartments seem to be the housing of choice for DINK’s
-PVX, We’ll all still need you but probably won’t feed you at this age. HBD anyway!
Happy 64th, AnonPVX!
ReplyDeleteHi Everybody!!
ReplyDelete@CE I am (barely) alive and (mostly) well - 22 days until graduation (according to the countdown app). I actually have a day off from school and work so had the pleasure of getting Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday done! Great job was done by our favorite creators; I enjoyed every minute!
Thanks for posting the "Fish Heads" link - glad to know I'm not the only one that thought of it :) Of course, I first heard that strange song on Dr. Demento a million years ago. Glad to see he's still out there.
THE WHO knew a Squeeze Box is an accordion - but I sure didn't for a long time ;)
Ernie Ball makes guitar strings and although Ernie passed away awhile ago, his company is still based in San Luis Obispo, CA. Make sure to give me credit when he joining Les Paul in our puzzles! Lots of vowels and easy to perp, right?
The best part about SAN SIMEON is the Elephant Seals. The babies are so little and adorable it's hard to believe they can grow up to weigh almost 1,000 pounds. I know I've shared the link before, but here is a live camera to watch them as they IDLE on the beach.
Today I went and officially accepted my new job in the ER, passed my drug and nicotine tests (LOL), and got fingerprinted for my nursing license. I should finish my clinical hours next week and am looking forward to more down time!
Hoping you all are well, I miss being able to check in everyday.
Enjoy your Wednesday,
t.
@PVX -
ReplyDeletethis Beatles song?
or
this one?
Either way, Happy Birthday!!!

We are snowbirds now and are in HOAs (Home Owner Associations). The one in Colorado is organized like a Condo Association. We have the right to buy or sell the property and to act as owner except that the HOA insures and maintains the structure including roofs, gutters, stucco and painting. They also maintain the landscaping (except for the fenced backyard if there is one), provide garbage service, maintain sidewalks, driveways including snow removal. While not precisely true it can be said the HOA maintains everything outside the drywall. Owners may not modify the outside appearance of the property without Architectural Committee approval.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant C.C. puzzle! How do you do this, C.C.? I'd love an explanation sometime about how you come up with the theme and work it out--this one was just a delight! And great pictures and explanations, JazzB. Got my morning off to a great start--especially since I also got the Sudoku, Kenken, and Jumble--not bad for a Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite clues were PAN FLYING--PETER, and, of course, SHEPHERD'S DINNER--ALPO, which cracked me up, when I got it.
Happy Birthday, AnonPVX.
BunnyM, thanks for asking about Dad's phone. It's apparently installed but no answer when I tried twice--supposedly because he was in therapy. My heart goes out to you and your family in waiting with your Aunt.
Fematprime, I'm glad your cough is getting better.
Have a great day, everybody!
john28man, good to hear from you again. Your HOA sounds exactly like our condo assoc. Our exteriors are aging and need an uplift and waterproofing. We are financing a paving project now. Then we will have to pay for the renovation. Some owners object to the cost, but if I owned a stand alone home I would need to do this renovation. Otherwise our curb appeal will be nil.
ReplyDeletePVX, happy birthday.
Enjoy your trip, Lucina.
JzB, feel better soon. It was brave of you to blog today.
Bunny, my heart goes out to you and your family
Misty, I understand how hard it might be to keep in touch with your dad. My mil had trouble answering the phone as she declined. I enlisted the staff by calling the nursing station.
Tawnya, congrats on the new job and license. What an accomplishment after all that hard work.
Happy Birthday AnonPVX ... My first Appleton Rum toast at Sunset is to YOU!
ReplyDeleteCheers!!!
Nice one from C.C.!
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time getting started, but once I found my way there was just no holding me back. This is one of those pzls where when you're done you wish it was a bigger grid and you had more squares to fill.
And thanks to JzB for doing the honors.
Happy 64th Birthday AnonPVX!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you Tawnya. Congratulations on completing your nursing degree and getting a job. ER should be interesting.
Hi All! I said it FLN and I'll say it again - we're blessed this week with constructors. Thank you C.C. for a fun pzl that didn't give itself away. I had to go back and fish for the FISH HEADders - SASSY!
ReplyDeleteExcellent Expo JzB... I've not heard the song Fish Heads in ages; I could have waited longer... THE WHO OTOH is always welcome.

Spitz - OHO! There's no (maybe a little(?)) German in our family but Gramps called PLIERS (k)nips... Now I Know; thanks.
Barney Miller shabu-shabu [@3:40] for billo. It's not good quality, but, you get what I paid for :-)
There's tawnya! And here just I found Go Buy Me a CONDO to draw her out. //Loved Demento's show; maybe that's why we're like we are :-)
Cheers, -T
My condo is an 11 building adobe complex. Most 2 story, but a couple are 3 floors. My wife was president of the HOA until this year. Since she retired from it, the complex manager of many years quit because of the new pres., and my wife is part of a group suing the new pres. for mismanagement. Ahh, politics!
ReplyDelete*Ooops, forgot the footnote: I mentioned Anka last night and, as I filled 42, was worried of being acused of "Spoiler!". Whew, 50% wrong. -T
ReplyDeleteTawnya, congratulations on your upcoming graduation and securing a job! Not an easy course of study, but so much needed. What is the deal on the "nicotine test"? Do they really give one of those? I can see why it would be good to have non-smokers in the ER who wouldn't always be running out to smoke when an emergency arose, but never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your words of support! I appreciate you all <3
ReplyDelete@PK a few years ago the hospital instituted a rule where they will not hire active smokers! I knew a little but got more information today because I was curious. So here it is: they test your urine for the presence of nicotine right in the office - similar to a pregnancy test, either you have it or you don't. If you test "Not Negative" they send the urine to the lab that does further testing (I assume on how much nicotine is present) and investigate you further. So you might get a call asking if you just quit, when that last time you used, if you are wearing a patch, chewing gum, etc..., then make a decision on whether or not to hire you. As for smokers that worked for the hospital prior to the new rule, they are grandfathered in. However, their health insurance premiums are about $50 per paycheck higher than the non-smokers. There are several free smoking cessation programs available. And once they quit smoking and provide a negative nicotine test - the hospital pays them $1,000!!! Naturally, the entire campus is smoke-free - even for patients and visitors. And security will nail people caught smoking in their cars.
@Anon-T - between Dr. Demento and Rodney on the ROQ, my tastes have never been mainstream!
Back to the books!

H-Gary, Bill Veeck certainly raised CAIN with his stunt that day. When Veeck heard that Gaedel intended to actually try to hit he threatened to kill him.
ReplyDeleteMisty and Bunny I hope for the best for both of you.
Owen, I actually liked #4 a lot. Ditto for C-Moe's'lick.

MEH on 16 across? I got it - but I don't get it?

ReplyDelete-Welcome to all our new blue friends. It’s great to see our community grow and add new perspectives. I got a bid on a new perspective but it was outrageous!
-Congrats Tawnya.
-Paraphrase – “I despise smoking but I’ll defend your right to your filthy habit in private and hope you’ll do the same for my disgusting habit(s)!”
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the canine sub-theme:
ReplyDeleteBasset hound
Shepherd
Irish setter
Alpo
Catnap
Rabid
SPCA
Laps up.
In other trivia, NOKIA has been around for 150+ years. They used to make toilet paper. You can make your own punch-line for that.
Tawnya - Congrats on your achiebement.
ReplyDeleteAnon -T - You're welcome. Contact me anytime at Ancestry.Pliers. :-)

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this one, chipped away at it, put a couple answers in the wrong place, but eventually got it done! Thanks, C.C. Recognized your style from the get-go, JzB. Enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteReally liked the canine sub-theme.
Hang in there, Tawyna! The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer! Congrats on the new job! A friend of ours was an ER doc. He loved not knowing what was coming in the door next.
Fermat, glad you're improving.
Misty and Bunny, positive thoughts being sent your way.
Good evening.
Pat
Two glasses of wine negate the hand pain and tingling clumsiness in my hand due to a pinched nerve from a herniated cervical disc. It lasts about 8 or 9 hours. But repeating that three times a day is not feasible. Is there a medication that duplicates this? Would an epidural do it?
ReplyDeleteWade, to me meh is the same as so so, not great, but it will do, I have seen better. It barely passes muster.
Many thanks, Yellowrocks, Wilbur, and Pat, for the good wishes for my dad and his recovery. I really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteOKL - I noticed the sub-theme but missed connecting Rabid and SPCA. Good eye!
ReplyDeleteTawnya - The end of school is neigh! I had the same question about the nicotine test as PK - Me likie me Cigars so I've no chance for your post (Congrats!). Rodney ROQ is new to me; I'll have to OD ON it later.
Misty - I've not said it but I've been throwing positive thoughts your way. God Speed to you and yours.
On BISCOTTI, with anise or w/o (you can always add Sambuca to your coffee), it's wonderful dunked into Espresso or strong coffee. My previous boss's wife (not Italian, so no anise) would make Biscotti every year for office Christmas (no Sambuca there either!). Her's was pretty dern good though - they had a dark-chocolate coat on one side. Yum.
Cheers, -T
