Alas, our European trip has been postponed, as Oo and I will once again travel to Thailand to check in on her 97-year-old mother. Hahtoolah's pictures are wonderful.
The puzzle flowed easily, with ARRIVAL the only movie that took any thought. I enjoyed seeing TET and TÊTE next to each other. The clechos were fun, as well as the CSO to ur dear friend JOHN LAMPKIN with LUNA MOTH . Orchids are always fun. Thanks, Gary and C.C.

Now, to the most-enjoyable Sunday puzzle in many a moon, IMVHO! I loved the theme and theme fill, especially Psycho Babble. I also liked the Tet ~ Tete duo (Hi, Lemony), the Hoar ~ Rime cousins, Small crossing LeBron, and ESP crossing Ghost. My favorite C/A was Small Shooter=Minicam. Some puzzles have a sub-theme but this one had two sub-themes, one of which played off the main theme of movies: Minicam, Role, Capra, TMC, Lorre, Tom (Cruise), Ditto (Ghost) and Writer, Indiana(n) (Jones), Doc (Holliday), and Ahab. The second highlighted sports: LA Ram, LeBron, Claret (Jug), Astro, Home Ice, Epee, Toro, Bucs, B Team, Oksana, Gold, All Pro, and TV Ads (Super Bowl). Wow, what fun this was.

DNF, giving up in Bangor and googling GODIVA. Erased erase (always wanted to say that) for ERODE, solo for LONE, pod for GAM, snow for RIME, AND niner for LA RAM.
I thought I would hate this one because of all the show biz stuff. But I knew all of the flicks except ARRIVAL and HEAT, and there were a lot of sparklers like "sugar bowl marchers" for ANTS, laying down the law item for NONO, and Holliday title for DOC (I was thinking of Billie).

I'm not a big movie fan. I have seen BIG and FROZEN. They were okay. I was thinking of the Chevy Chase National Lampoon Vacation movies. Alan has many of the old ones, which I have seen. I like them better. I see there is a 2015 movie in this series called simply Vacation. I have heard of Heat, Arrival and Ghost, but not my cuppa.
I think I will watch the new Downtown Abbey film to see why you all enjoyed the TV series. I didn't watch this series or most other series because I can't tune in regularly enough to keep up with the characters and plot. I get bored with binge watching. I also get bored with about the fourth book of a serialized novel.
I think CC was saying the lady slipper is her state (Minnesota) flower.

Gary, I remember drooling over the Boss 429 Mustang when I was in high school. I was just as likely to get a Harley, meaning when pigs fly.
I loved this Sunday puzzle--thank you so much, Gary. It was so doable, that I got most of it without any cheating, a real treat. And my German helped right away with STRUDEL and DANKE, so, again, "danke," Gary. I did have some of the same erasures Jink reports, with SOLO before LONE and POD before GAM. ANTS came to me immediately for the 'Sugar bowl marchers', and cracked me up. I like seeing ADELE in puzzles, and was surprised and delighted to get LE BRON this morning since I'm not great at sports. Anyway, a very enjoyable experience, accompanied by C.C.'s flower and food pictures. And what a lovely vacation Hahtoolah is enjoying! Good for her.

Forgot to mention, that last week, I started to wake up every morning with the song "Moon River" in my head, with all the lyrics. I have no idea where that came from and why it would pop into my sleep like that. Yesterday I finally looked it up and found that it was a song from the 1961 movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's," which I did see when I was in high school! But still can't believe it stayed in my head all these years, and still don't really understand the song, with lines like "my huckleberry friend"? Who or what is that? Senior minds are complicated, aren't they?

I always need an eraser for Gary’s puzzles.......they are so enjoyable as a little effort gets the word. There were lots of ahas as I stumbled around, and I managed with no lookups, and it came together beautifully at the end with FrozenAccount, which I was sure I would never figure out!

In college I had a summer job on a surveying crew in St Clair County IL (Across the Mississippi from St Louis), laying out the route of what would be one of the new Interstate highway bypasses around E St Louis IL. At that time all we could see of the Arch was one curved leg coming up out of the trees to the south, and one to the north. I don’t believe it was finished until a year or more later. Cool!

It helped immensely in passing the time while DW was at the rehab with MIL & Daughter#3.

Not a speed run for me today. Took almost the usual Sunday hour.
Did not know of the movies ARRIVAL or HEAT. Forgot the VACATION series. All the theme movies entries took lots of perps because I don't know years they came out. GHOST was the only one I guessed right the first time. I couldn't think of any Hitchcock movies except "Birds" & "The Trouble With Harry". DUH!
Learning moment: CASPIAN Sea is on two continents. I tend to forget about inland seas.

Hand up for not thinking of LEBRON as "immortal" yet. Talented, yes! Egotistical, yes! Had the "B" and wanted Larry Bird who is more immortal than LEBRON since he is done playing NBA. He didn't fit without a middle initial.
