"In Cold Blood" writer Capote: TRUMAN.  In Cold Blood is a non-fiction novel that details the murder of the Clutter family.  The murder took place in 1959 in a Kansas farming community.  The murderers were capture within weeks of committing the crime.  In the course of writing the book, Truman Capote (né Truman Streckfus Persons; September 30, 1924 ~ August 25, 1984) met with the murderers and their story is a major component of the book, which was published in 1965.
