Knew it was WAGue, but not how to spell it: WAGYU. Also DElayed before I DEFERred. Hooray for Wite-Out. Never noticed the scrambled GREEN on my way through the grid. The reveal clued me in. Thanx, C.C. and Dash-T.
FIR, but cbs became TBS. Semi-guess at WAGYU x MAYA.
Should I start drinking again, I'll take my BEER propelled by CO2. And very cold.
My STEPkids and I stopped using "STEP" years ago.
I've mentioned that I grew up in a little mom-and-pop motel/restaurant/gas station/convenience store. "Honeymoon salad" was on our restaurant's menu, with the explanation "lettuce alone." Quite the simple salad.

FIW. The crossing of Maya and wagyu did me in. I knew neither and had to take a WAG. R was wrong. I feel that crossing is somewhat unfair.
I got the theme, but had never heard of diaper genie or beer engine. The reveal assured me they were real.
Overall not a pleasant puzzle.
I too FIR. MAhA crossing WAGhU. Otherwise, this CW was a simple salad. I saw the MIXED GREENS before the reveal. And we had a choice of breads to accompany the salads, PITA or NAAN. I like ARUGULA but hate KALE.
USD was a tricky fill. I can’t believe that the ATLANTA airport is the busiest in the world. Wow!

Took 4:15 today to finish the genre.
I knew the Actress of the Day (Rae), but I didn't know the other Actress of the Day (Maya). I managed to scrape (or eke) by the Japanese lessons in the top-center (wagyu & hai).
Annie Lennox continues to be the only singing Lennox I can seem to remember.
"Tableau" is a word I've not heard, only seen.

Loved this delightful puzzle! The theme was fresh and the playful clueing added sparkle. Hadn’t heard the phrase INNER GEEK before but it is a fun one that I will be able to drop in conversation.

Terrific Tuesday CW, Thanx C.C.! 12 names, only 3 DNKs. FIR in 12, and I did see the theme, but only after filling the reveal and looking at the theme fill, so no help in solving.
WEES re WAGYU spelling. Finally figured it had to be MAYA, when WAGYU rang a bell. WEES re Lennox.
During my working years I must have flown through Atlanta about once/week for many years. I always loved the airport, and their underground trains. This was all pre-911, so security didn't slow things down as much.
Selma is in the CW. I'm absolutely astonished that that bridge in Selma is still called the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It is named after the Grand Dragon of the Alabama KKK!!

-T you mention quitting nicotine. It HAS to be one of, if not THE, most addictive substances on earth. I started sneaking smokes when I was 14, took it up full time when I was in college, and didn't quit until I was 35. I smoked unfiltered Lucky Strikes. GREAT tobacco. It took many attempts to finally quit, and even then I would have smoking dreams. I would dream I was inhaling, wake up and reach over to the bedside stand. When I couldn't find my Luckies I would turn on the light, see an empty space where my Luckies used to be, and remember, "Oh yeah. I quit!" I had these dreams for close to twenty years. My dad died of lung cancer at 66y.o. after smoking most of his life. My best friend in college died of emphysema about twenty years ago. In college, first thing he would do at 7am was fire up a Pall Mall Red. Oy.
I suspect if I ever smoked one cigarette, I would go back to smoking. So good for you for quitting. Tough to do. Hang in there.

The letter G is nowhere near being one of our more common letters. Yet in today's puzzle G appears in the Reveal and all four theme answers--always in the second word. Am I missing something, or is this just pure coincidence?
The Adler as dominatrix scenes with Sherlock played by Benedict Cabbagepatch would have been weird if Adler was his sister . BTW the recent Amazon Prime “Young Sherlock” series is worth a watch
Nice C C challenge. So the trick was all the clue answers contain the word GREENS 🌱with its letters mixed(up). like a mixed green salad; assume the uppity anti-🟢 crowd is delighted 😃. (Whenever I get served a mixed green salad as part of a restaurant meal I wondered if they just go outside and pull up weeds )

Hai and Wagyu were an easy fill.
Wagyu beef is tender but fatty. I think it’s overrated and would prefer a bbq 🥩 T-Bone.

R-O-S, I have a similar reaction to "mixed green salad". I always think they must have just mown down the weed patch. I ask what kind of salad is included and if it's a mixed green salad, I ask if I can have just an iceberg lettuce salad. If not I pay extra for a Caesar salad.
Hola! Once again C.C. exhibits PURE GENIUS with this puzzle. I did FORGE AHEAD and finished it though I don't know if my INNER GEEK was entirely awake.
After my dad died from the after-effects of TB, I had three STEP-DADs, all of them very nice men but they all died of cancer. Many years later it was surmised that this area where we live might be a cancer zone. Since then, efforts to clean it up have apparently been effective.
When my daughter was born, one of my friends gave me a DIAPER GENIE; it's the most practical gifts one could have with a new baby.

Perfect Tuesday side dish, however wagyu crossing maya was a personal Natick. You would think that in 100 years of crossword making, this theme would have been done to death, yet I can only find 3 other mixed green themed puzzles! silly theme link...

A CC puzzle + an Anon T review = an enjoyable and fun experience. I saw the G and several EEs but I don’t enjoying parsing anagrams, so I waited until the reveal clue and filled it in in the blink of an eye. Unknowns, but easily perped ones), such as Diaper Genie, and Beer Engine added some spice, just as fresh and impressive entries, such as Finesse, Tableau, Animate, Artisan, and Stature added some sophistication. CC hit the sweet spot with this one, IMO.
