Some
nice cluing deception today, with about a half dozen of them fooling
me. We last heard from Mr. Johnson in July, and this is #5 for his LA
Times Saturday constructions. No Google, no red-letters, and I wrapped
this one up in half of my personal allotted time. Today's grid reminds
me of a Christmas package bow, with two pairs of central 11-letter
spanners and climbers, with a pinwheel of four 10-letter fills
surrounding;
