Some pretty obscure proper names, but most were easily sussed through perps. On the other hand, the gimmick was obviously from the first themed fill, so the puzzle had that going for it. Anyway, FIR, so I’m happy.

Zipped right through this one, Wite-Out-free. Even managed to get the theme. I probably should buy a LOTTO ticket today. Didn't notice all of the names, because the perps were kind. LEST showed up a day early. Thanx, Beth. Great expo, Hahtoolah.
DOMED: Our local high school football field isn't domed, but they do sell the naming rights. At the moment it's named for a local auto dealership.
SOAK: I also enjoy reading while soaking in the bathtub. One of these days I'll fall asleep in the tub, drop the phone, and that'll be the end of that practice.
Favorite themers: GEEZ LOUISE and THAT'S WILD. GOOD ONE was the weakest for me, a more fitting answer would've been HOLY MOLY! or something (though that wouldn't fit in the middle of a 15x15, maybe a farmer's "Wow!" (HOLY COW!) would've been better).
FIR, but erased odda for EDDA, jeez for GEEZ, and as am i for DITTO. Couldn't get started in the Pacific Northwest, but the Rolling in the Deep singer was 5 letters, so ADELE was a good guess. Other DNKS: GLAZER, SANSA, "jinkies" (nearly a CSO to moi) and INEZ.
Since this is the LA Times, I considered CARB (California Air Resources Board) instead of EPA, but it has too many letters (and too many rules).
I think the only times I've said WHO'D've, I use "thunk it" instead of "thought it".

In "A Man Called Ove" by Swedish author Fredrik Backman - Ove loved SAABs and thought they were the only cars any reasonable person would own, and would have feuds with neighbors who owned Volvos. Such a good read!

I really liked this theme right out of the blocks with Thelma’s “Wow!”?=Geez Louise and all of the others except Good One. I think this entry took a little shine off the puzzle. Who’d was just plain ugly and Eely ran a close second. Alia, Sansa, Ines, and Sync, as clued, were all unknowns and, IMO, not Tuesday level references. OTOH, I thought the cluing was noticeably successful with fresh takes on several ubiquitous answers. The fill was lively and the pesky three letter words were minimal so, overall, an enjoyable solve.
Thanks, Beth, for a fun and clever theme and thanks, Hahtoolah, for another tip-top review. Loved all of the cartoons, especially the Poetry writing cat and the Duck, Turkey, Pig survivors and the Penultimate “Bad” Cat. I enjoyed the video of Richard Gere and while he’ll never win any singing contests, he is a multi-talented actor, IMO, and, course, Reneé Zellwegger shares the same accolades. Thanks for the CSO, too. ☘️

- I have a Word template I use for subbing that I call up and RENAME to give that teacher feedback
- Lee Harvey not only claimed he did not ACT ALONE but that he didn’t ACT at all
My barber of 30 years calls his shop Backstage REVUE and I have never asked him why

- Buffalo Bills had to move their NFL game to Detroit because of snow but its new stadium will be open air

Speaking of domes, I live near the largest wooden dome in the world at Northern Michigan University. Built of 780 Douglas Fir beams, and due to its location a block from the greatest of Lakes it’s simply named “Superior Dome”.

Thank you, everyone, for the warm birthday wishes! Because my family and friends came to my side to wish me a happy birthday and I went not only to breakfast with my sister but to dinner with my main man, Mark, the day turned out very well. And my daughter has promised me another dinner on the weekend.

I haven't seen my car but on the police report the officer wrote "wrecked" so what can I infer from that! A new car was not in my sights and I hoped that the one I had would last me for many more years. It had low mileage and WAS in good shape.
