At that point, I still hadn't stored my Halloween decorations, and the Butterball Turkey Hotline had been opened up for calls, emails and texts for only one day.
But I guess if you are into it, you are into it. A neighbor down the street has had his yard and house fully decorated for Christmas since he took down his Halloween stuff the day after. Lights go on at dusk every night. I'm in the "Nope - still too soon" camp on that one.
FIR. The only thing that could have made this puzzle less enjoyable would have been the presence of circles. So many proper names, way too many. And even two crossing with Ito and Ross. Giant NO-NO.
The theme was clever and the unifier really helped a lot. But overall, this CW was not for me!

This was a cute theme but the early reveal placement lessens the suspense and enjoyment of discovering the theme, IMO. My only stumble was Chess/Knight (Hi, TTP!) and the unknowns were Inga, Amy, and Ike. (Sounds like a Pop group!) I wasn't keen on I'm Hip or the plural Whits but I did appreciate the low (11) three letter word count and some clever cluing. As Scamps is interchangeable with Imps, CSO to CEH and a CSO to SubB whose cute Koala avatar brings a smile every day. And Omar Sharif will certainly bring a smile to Lucina!

WINTER is a season that lately I've only heard about and read about and in fact, there is skiing north of us in Flagstaff. Actually, when I lived in Denver, I experienced WINTER in a big way with lots of snow.

It is extremely unlikely (almost impossible) that any Ad you see on a Google product (Blogger) that is being passed through Google's ad server is going have any kind of embedded malware.
An ad may have been compromised with malware on some other site, but it is not likely to get through Google's servers and loaded on their products. See:

You can still report any ad that you believe is dangerous.
As Dash T said, some of the the ads you see are based Google's estimation of your interests. It's called Interest Based advertising. It's also called Online Behavioral advertising.
But not all of the ads you'll see are based on your general browsing history. They just show up, based on nothing you've done.
You can start getting different ads if you don't like what you are seeing.
One way to start anew would be to open your browser's setting and clear all cookies and cache. You can also selectively remove cookies.
Sometimes you will get ads from other Google Ad partners, and they may or may not have anything to do with your browsing history. Google ad partners participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance.
You can run a report that will tell you which companies are using online behavioral advertising. Run this WebChoices tool:

Going back to BigE - DW traveled to Russia (before 2nd Ukraine invasion - got me a cool (then) garrison cap w/ lots of pins & patches at a novelty shop) and...
Her buddy had sleeping aides on her.
Oy! EVIL dogs and guards and circles & paragraphs on the back of each to explain what each one was (to hear her (or Arlo*)) tell it.
They were held for ~two hours b/f DW's buddy found the Rx saying all was cool.
//And did DW pack her own bag of swag?... Oy! There was a "Lone Star" banner in the under-lining.
Her assistant has since been SACK'd.
DW did enjoy her trip and the wonderful people & sites until the last meal with bountiful seafood.
The oysters were not kind and she barfed all over attendants in the airport in Japan (much like Bush) and had to stay an extra day in a hotel to recover. Her buddy nursed.
Blue MOON is meh w/o the orange slice.

Much later, when I read your comments about the Temu ad, I went back to the main page to check something on one of the ads that I was getting. There was a new ad there for some diet that Kelly Cuoco of Bing Bang Theory had been on, and something about how she had to reduce her bikini size.

AnonT Thank you for the kind words! Unfortunately, we had a big fire in that area about ten years ago. The fire didn't damage that spot, but the firefighters cut down all the brush so they didn't have to go through that narrow passage. It ruined much of the effect. The brush will never grow back, because most hikers keep following the path of least resistance around the passage.
Seriously? Specs for construction of foundations in earthquake country, erosion of cliffs at the shore, fire-resistance in prone areas, etc.

RE: CED & Temu. TTP et al, in households with multiple devices, can't the router's IP address play a roll in which ads the household receives? In other words, I was under the impression that my searches affect DH's ads because we share the same router? (Sidenote: because of this blog, my searches are all over the place. The spy in the sky is having a hard time pinning my interests down. Muwahaha!)
sumdaze - IP address is only a small data-point mostly indicating your ISP. Take a look at your cookies one day [in Chrome: "chrome://settings/cookies"] -- you'll be surprised at all the ad-trackers crumbled about.

Sumdaze, it's really all about the cookies. It could be pure coincidence that you and your husband get the same ads, or it could be that you once browsed some sites using your husband's computer while he was signed on, or he yours.
The WAN IP addresses (wide area network) from ISPs are mostly dynamic. That is, they are assigned to your router each time you power it on. You can also change your WAN IP with some form of reset/renew command so you don't have to power down.
You could power cycle your router to demonstrate that it's the cookies rather than the IP address. You'll continue to get the same type of targeted ads that you received before.
